Please train me on TCF Speaking Tâche 2 following the instructions in this link:

The tool will take the role of the scenario partner (landlord / travel agency / recruiter…), waiting for you to ask questions.

What This Task Looks Like in TCF

Speaking Tâche 2, also called interaction, is the most unique-paced part of the whole test:

  • Duration: ~5 minutes (2 minutes preparation + 3 minutes interaction)
  • Format: The examiner gives you a scenario (e.g., "You want to rent an apartment in Montréal, call the landlord to get information"), and you ask 5-7 effective questions. The examiner only answers what you ask.
  • Level: B1 → B2
  • Key point: This is the only part of the test where you actively drive the conversation, and where most candidates lose points.

Full score is based on 6 dimensions (each /4), with two especially important:

  1. Interaction ability — How many effective questions did you ask? Less than 5 caps you at /2.
  2. Variety of question structures — Are you only using Combien...? / Où...?? Did you use conditionnel de politesse, interrogation indirecte?

Why Most People Can't Practice This Task Properly

Typical prompts saying "practice TCF Speaking Tâche 2 with me" usually make the tool ask you questions instead, totally reversing roles—TCF Tâche 2 is you ask, it answers, not the other way around.

Our prompt in this link spells out the rules strictly:

  • The tool starts with a random scenario; you get 2 minutes to prepare.
  • You ask questions; the tool answers briefly (1-2 sentences) as the scenario character.
  • The tool never volunteers information—if you don’t ask, it won’t say.
  • The tool never corrects you during interaction.
  • After interaction, it gives scores on 6 dimensions, shows how each question compares "your phrasing → B2/C1 phrasing," plus 3 key questions you missed.

Sample Dialogue

Tool: Bonjour. Le loyer est de 1 450 dollars par mois.

You: Est-ce que les charges sont incluses ?

Tool: Non, l'eau et l'électricité sont à votre charge en plus.

You: (Continue asking 4-5 effective questions)

Tool: (After 5-7 questions) Merci, l'interaction est terminée. Voici votre évaluation.

Then it gives the score table + your questions’ "original vs B2 upgraded" comparison + 3 key questions you missed (e.g., you forgot to ask about "signature de bail," "meublé ou non") + 2 interaction connectors (en effet, justement, si je comprends bien, une dernière chose).

Most Common Pitfalls for Candidates

  • Not enough questions: stopping at 3-4. The soul of Tâche 2 is "ask thoroughly," start at 5, aim for 7.
  • Limited question types: all 6 questions are Combien...? Où...? Quand...? — grammar variety dimension tanks. Use Est-ce que / Pourriez-vous me dire si... / Serait-il possible de... to diversify.
  • No conditionnel polite form: Pourriez-vous me préciser le loyer ? scores higher than Combien ça coûte ?
  • Missing key info: in rental scenario, not asking about "chauffage included or not," in interview scenario, not asking about "durée du contrat"—these are "should-have-asked" points the tool will deduct.
